At Susan E. Henderson Counseling, PLLC, I specialize in marriage counseling and couples therapy in Huntsville, TX. I believe in the power of strong relationships and provide a safe, welcoming space for individuals, couples, and families.

My approach is evidence-based and personalized. I use:

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – to strengthen emotional bonds
Gottman Method Couples Therapy – to improve communication and problem-solving
PREPARE/ENRICH Assessments – to help couples gain insight and clarity

My Personal Side

I have been married for over 30 years to a man I met in graduate school. We share the same passion for helping others but come from slightly different approaches. He teaches in Psychology, and I teach in Counseling and have a private practice. My family is everything to me. We have two adult children: a trans adult daughter living in another state and a daughter in her last year of college. We also have two dogs and a cat. I love cooking, traveling, teaching, and being as active as my body will let me! I am also a Christian, but I am an affirming Christian. I will not impose my values on anyone I am working with, and I will work with anyone who is okay with who I am!
